Things to do
Wether this is your third time around the area or you’re visiting for the first time, below are things to do (some are our personal favorites!) while visiting Los Alamos.
Recommended Itinerary
Friday
☀️ Morning
Have a legendary lunch at Bob's Well Bread Bakery for artisan sandwiches and baked goods, or grab a flatbread pizza from Full of Life Flatbread.
🌅 Afternoon
Explore the antiques and shops along Bell Street (list of shops listed at bottom of the page).
Visit a couple of the town's acclaimed tasting rooms, many of which specialize in cool-climate Rhône varieties — options include: Bodega Los Alamos (casual open-air wine/beer garden), A Tribute to Grace Wine Company, or Clementine Carter Wines.
🌃 Evening
Los Alamos is known for its high-end dining. Book a reservation in advance at Bell's (French bistro fare, often Michelin-recognized) or Pico for a memorable Friday night meal. Afterwards, head to Bar Alamo for a relaxed end to your first day.
🥳 Saturday - Wedding @ 1880 Union Hotel 🥳
Sunday
☀️ Morning
Breakfast at Plenty on Bell in Los Alamo — specializing in inventive breakfast/brunch in a historic building OR Santa Ynez Kitchen for Italian-inspired farm-to-table lunch/brunch, or the casual Maverick Saloon for a true Western experience.
🌅 Afternoon
Stop at Ostrichland USA in Buellton to feed the ostriches and emus.
Visit the Old Mission Santa Inés in Solvang, one of the original California Missions.
Check out the shops and tasting rooms in downtown Santa Ynez for a different, more Western vibe than Solvang.
🌃 Evening
Dinner at Bar Le Côte in Santa Ynez or back to Los Alamos for Pico or Bell’s!
